Is it the stock one? If so I kept checking mine and it went 200K before I changed it even then it still looked like it could go further. While I was there I changed out the water pump and all pulleys!

I'm jealous of all you 2nd gen owners. I sold mine and got a 3rd gen and now i regret it. The 2nd gen in my opinion was better in every way.

I had a 2016 Sport, bought new, for 5.5 years and every year I wanted another 2nd gen. Once prices jumped I sold the 2016 and bought 2 2nd gen trucks and pocketed over $3k. Best move I ever made.

I found 2 for $14k each within 30 days. A 2012 SR5 with 140k miles then a 2008 Off Road with 83k miles. Bought both based on a craigslist picture but committed to buy both before a test drive. Both are awesome trucks. My son ended up with the 2012 so it is still here.

Smok'n deal man you would be hard pressed to find a deal like that out here in Cali. I had a guy offer me 24K after I got it back from paint said thanks but no thanks I'm going the distance. Clean them up and drive them out here you can make a killing!

Won't be selling these. When son wants to buy something else I will most likely buy his 2012 back. Love both of these.

Some people might think it's stupid to go backwards but until you own a 3rd gen, you don't know what it's like. Its literally a downgrade going from 2nd gen to 3rd gen

Cleaned up the maf and throttle body. Also got my spare parts/fluids/recovery gear bin installed in the bed.

I've mostly lurked on this forum for YEARS now... I had an '01 Tacoma that I regret selling in '05 for a Tundra. The Tundra was nice, but I don't miss it. Since then I had a GMC 2500 while I built my own house. It was a total piece of shit right out of the factory. Then I had an F-150 ecoboost. Really loved that truck- probably the nicest truck I've had (bold statement for this crowd). I sold the Ford because I encountered a 120 mile one way commute- but knew it would be a 3 year deal- and replaced it with a Civic. Boring, but got the job done. When I finished that commitment I ordered (or "reserved") an F-150 Lightning. I kinda knew it would be a while before I'd see it, but figured I could get by. My wife and I have always made good use of a truck, and found life without one a little more challenging.

About a month ago a good friend of mine told me that he was trading his '10 Tacoma in for a new one, and I offered to buy it. It just had the frame replaced last summer, and he takes pretty good care of his stuff and drives like an old lady.

So I'm the proud new owner of a 2010 Access Cab SR5 V6 Auto 4x4. Last week I put new rotors, calipers, and pads on the front, new drums, shoes, and wheel cylinders on the back. Braking is improved vastly, still very soft feeling, but improved. Such is life owning a Tacoma. Yesterday I put a tow hitch on, as my buddy had nothing to tow. Most I'll ever tow is a wood splitter, but I will be using a hitch-mounted bike rack.

This morning I replaced my headlight bulbs with basic Phillips bulbs. Though it passed state inspection last week one of my low beams went out. Whoever designed the headlights deserves a kick in the shin. I've never taken more than 3 minutes to change out bulbs and this took me a solid 10.

Anyways... she's mine till the Lightning arrives or I change my mind- and that's been known to happen. I'll keep taking good care of it and someone will end up with a reasonable truck in a few years.

    Cheers.
