I had a hard time finding straw today. None at the pet food store, none at home depot, tractor supply was out and didn't know when they might get anymore. I found some at a farm and home store 20 miles from my house. Only cost $12 and there's plenty to change it several times or add to it as needed.

It's about 6 inches deep now, I'll check it later after the mash it down. I can always add more as needed.

I've been thinking about adding a small light of some kind on the inside of the roof to create some heat but I haven't had that ah ha moment yet.

We have a electric heat pad (for pets type thing) they run about $60.00 for the size that would fit in the house you built. I think they'll be fine in there without though.:notsure:

Just got back from northern Nevada paying a visit to/ working for my aunt and uncle. This is the first time I’ve seen the latest additions to their family. I really bonded with the brown cat Truffles and she almost “accidentally” came home with me.

Well the kitties have moved into the shelter, there was several of them coming out for breakfast, lol. It looks like a blend of 3 litters, all sealpoints. One of them is very friendly and comes right up to me for pets. Beautiful little kitten, I'm trying to find someone to adopt this one, it would make a great pet. Most of the others are true ferrals and they just want me to feed and water them and they keep their distance. But now they all have a place to keep warm.
