Hello new to the forum hoping I can get some help. 2005 4.0 tacoma lost power and died on side of road 6 codes p0351 to p0356. Am not getting spark from any of the coils. First coil code to pop up in the list was for cyl 6 replaced coil no luck. Cyl 3 coil now first on list. Have checked wiring to ecm and all seem to be good. Getting power to coils grounds are good. Scanner says check igf wires all seem fine when tested. At a loss here hoping someone can help me out. Thank you

All the IGF wires are connected.
The IGF is ignition confirmation to the ECM.
It is the White/Red wire. I’d make sure it has continuity to the ECM.
Since all the coils are reporting NO FIRE, you may have a break at the connector J12.
Or an IGF wire is grounding out?

Thank you for replying. Would you happen to know where that j12 junction is? Also it was the igt wires I checked my bad. I did find something odd at the ecu when digging around. 1 wire in the plug at ecu for coils is bare and has been wrapped with electrical tape. Is that normal?

I may be able to find the location. I’m currently not at home. I’ll look when I get back.

I don’t recall any wires being bare or wrapped in tape on my ECU. So, I’d say it’s not normal. Using electrical tape to cap a wire is not the correct way to do it.
Seriously don’t it left the factory that way.

Your codes are for the IGF. For some reason, the ECU is reporting there is no IGF signal being reported.

Yeah when I looked at the diagram you posted I noticed by the wire colors. The directions I got the igt and igf wires were reversed

It looks like it's behind the glovebox to the left of the PCM.
I also attached the troubleshooting guide for p0351-356

Here is the plug pinout for J12 and E4.
The FSM seems to never include these in the diagnosis.
They just give you a picture, and you have to count little squares.
Super annoying if using a phone.
That should make it a little easier to correctly ID the pins.

These pinout are for when the plug is DISCONNECTED.
They will be mirrored when plugged in to the ECU.

Note that the FSM diagnoses @Dm93 post shows the connector plugged in.
In that case, you would be back probing the wire harness.

If you don't find anything with the wiring then it probably needs a pcm

This is the wire I was talking about. I'm on the hunt for that j12 but it's not in the spot the picture shows. I did see the white/red wire going to ecm and have a signal with multimeter from ecm plug to each coil. Would like to find where they all join from coils and turn to 1 wire.

Did you ever resolve / find the issue? I'm in a similar boat but with coils 1,2,3,4.

Yes I did turned out to be a short in wiring to ecm. Turned out previous owner ran wires through the grommet and somehow caught a couple wires. Fried the ecm and the replacement before I found the issue. Repaired wiring installedaa new ecm and been running fine since.
