Started fitting things


And we started doing the new RTT rack

 

I swapped the Honda windshield sprayers on, and gave the truck its first wash since I've owned it lol.

 

New oil pan gasket, fuel filter, and replaced driver door latch. Now going to have a beer or 8 and watch football

 

Wondered why the drivers side window was off the guides….broken mount

 

New rack was installed on the Devil Taco.

Loved drilling 8 - 1/2 inch holes in the roof of my truck... it was great.



Tested... zero wind noise. I guess that's a bonus.

 

Haven’t posted in a while because life has been incredibly busy the past few month. Finally had some free time this weekend so I took the time to wire up my PLX wideband AFR gauge, cleaned up the wiring to my 6gang ebay relay/fuse box, and move the rigid dually side shooters from the ditch light location to the front bumper; they made way too much glare in the ditch light location and I have some DDS2s on the shelf that I’ll use as ditch lights.

 

What rack is that? Custom?

 

Lol... well, kind of custom.

It's a Vijay rack my kid bought off of Craigslist for his second gen. It didn't fit the way he wanted it to. (too narrow) So, he bought a different rack that fit better. I figured, since it was too narrow for a second gen, it might be a good candidate to try and fit on mine. And it worked.


Works perfectly with the rest of my build of cobbled together second hand, hand me downs, and re-purposed/made-to-work, items lol.

 

My 37s compared to the same tire as a 35 on the dodge. Finally got my wheels and beadlock rings.

 

5 Lug axles?

Had my annual undercoating today. Forgot to take my spare tire off until taking this pic ha. Remembered last year at least

Oh, and a few days ago I got it a friend. Gonna be a long project

 

ive been wanting to do an undercoat on mine. question for ya... do you need to strip any and all dirt / minor surface rust before taking it in? or do they do the full prep and spray? Or do they just spray over any light surface rust?

 

Went and played around in the dirt again



I also got some AVS in channel window visors, I'm pleased with the fit

 

I’d imagine it varies by location, but the more prep you do the better. These trucks have horrible rust issues. Last fall I cleaned and painted the metal underneath with Rustoleum Farm Equipment paint. Then I power wash the undercarriage before undercoating

 

Why not undercoat once, then Fluid Film? Not sure I'd want to prep and undercoat each season when FF is way easier and actually protects much more than undercoat.

 

i haven’t been under the impression that fluid film is superior, open to info though

Wouldn’t say the prep is much though. Just power washed it at a diy wash the morning of the undercoating, took about 3-4 minutes

*worth mentioning:

I also pressure wash the underside of the car in spring to remove the winter’s coating. Usually get dirty all summer so I have to pressure wash the underside throughout the season
