Anyone know what this old chain tool is?

    I found this while removing barn wood from an old homestead. The place was built in the 1880’s. The owner said at one time their relatives had a steam powered saw mill. So maybe it’s saw mill related?

    I don’t think the chain is that old.
    But it looks to be pretty old. Early 1900’s maybe.

    It’s kind of doubled in links.
    Almost like it’s braided.

    I’ll let the lady know that owns the land.
    It was here families old home place. There were a few others there also.
    I took one with me just to figure it out.
    Now I can give it back to her. :thumbsup:

    She told me to keep, but I have no use for it.
