Accessory Power Clean Up

Is there anyway to clean up all the power leads going to the battery? I have a lightbar, amp, and more to come and I was not sure if there was a way to clean up multiple leads going to the battery or not.

 

You can use breakout terminal connectors, but generally your best solution will be an aux fuse/distribution panel with a breaker.

To be frank, the panel option is a little over my head, I've just been doing simple things. The terminal breakout connectors seem quite cool and what I want, is there any preferred brand/price range? I do not want to cheap out but they are on Amazon for like $12

I've no experience with those particular ones. Personally I'd prefer a bolt to the quick release handle and would go for something like

In practice I run an aux fuse panel.

How many devices do you plan on connecting, and does your battery have lug or screw connectors?

I'd take your planned number of connections (n), then look for a terminal with between (n/2 +2) and (n+3) connections. You can usually get two connectors on a terminal, need a spare for the stock connection, and I'd add two slots to grow.

If you're going to use more than 6 connections, a block will make your life easier in the long run (and way less spaghetti under the hood). They can look a little intimidating, but are fairly straightforward once you get into them. TW's big enough that there's likely someone local to you willing to help.

Regardless of the breakout type, remember to appropriately size and fuse all your wiring.

 

Okay cool thanks! I appreciate the help. Am I crazy for wanting to replace the battery cables all together and get new ones? Maybe a little longer ones as well? Would this be difficult to do; sorry I am new to DIY whenever it comes to my own truck.

 

Eh, it's a truck forum; wouldn't break the top 100 for craziest mods.

What do you hope to gain from replacing them? It does allow for additional charging efficiency or could be required if your cables are corroded/damaged... but if your system is running fine you likely won't notice much difference.

One caveat- don't cheap out and crimp wires with pliers. Hydraulic swager or one of these
