False. The reasons you list they are better is exactly why they are "wayyyyyyy" worse, AlphaRex is a short range floodlight, not a headlight. The product is an optical disaster. More comparison info here. And that is against v1.0 Morimotos, the v2.0 Morimotos are massively brighter while actually maintaining a correct headlight pattern as covered in post #4548 here. The v2.0 Morimotos exceed D2S HIDs in low beam output intensity and high beam output intensity while placing hot spot intensity at the cut off for maximum distance projection as a proper headlight should. AlphaRex has the headlight pattern literally backward, with huge increases in foreground light while dipping the beam intensity significantly in the pattern reducing the distance projection and causing the massive increases in foreground light which limits the distance vision of the driver. So yeah, slow speed on the trail seeing things 10' in front of you they will work fantastic and you can see everything. 60+mph on the freeway they will be completely worthless, you will outdrive your headlights and see nothing until it is way too late.

Unfortunately the massive increase in foreground light is often viewed as positive from non-educated users, while not realizing they have lost their critical distance light. This is human nature to rate foreground light as better (a common mistake so don't feel bad!), even though that isn't how a headlight is supposed to work, as headlights are supposed to minimize foreground light and focus on distance light. So that either makes AlphaRex completely incompetent in headlight design, or cleverly designing poor performing products to be misleading to the buyers. In interactions with their reps, it is pretty clear they have no clue how these products are supposed to work. Maybe that is because AlphaRex doesn't actually make anything, they don't have actual product engineers, zero expertise in automotive lighting, they just resell cheap Chinese products at huge markups to ill-informed American buyers.

Those headlights are made by Zhejiang Lingyi. You just paid crazy markups on a very poorly designed rebranded cheap china headlight.

While the Morimoto v2.0s are far better designed than the AlphaRex/Zhejiang Lingyi headlights, the OEM LEDs are vastly superior in all aspects of design, pattern performance and quality compared to both those options as covered in post #3626 here.

@crashnburn80 So what you are saying both AlphaRex and Morimoto are less superior then the stock Tacoma limited LED headlights. I have been tossing around swapping out my stock LED lights for either of the two I mentioned. But after a lot of reading and research here on TW it looks like I already have the best. I can tell you when I first got my truck I was very impressed with the lights on it. And I really don't want to spend 1K+ just to be disappointed.

One thing I wanted to do is eliminate the chrome strip in the headlights. But after reviewing a couple of more videos that showed the 21 Limited with the Nightshade package I noticed that even with that trim level it still has the chrome accent in the headlight.

AlphaRex should be discarded entirely as a consideration if you actually care about headlight performance. Between Morimoto and OEM LED, the Morimotos are brighter in output intensity but have flaws that reduce visibility (lack of uplight) and some quality control issues. The high beam also lacks the flood function of an OEM headlight, so you get further illumination down road but not the wide area coverage. Vs Toyota's exceptionally well designed headlight that includes uplight and is from the leader in automotive quality and the high beam offers a good concentrated hot spot for punch down road while still providing that general flood function for the ultra wide area illumination. Styling is personal preference. You could debate on the merits of both if upgrading from halogen, but I wouldn't pay to switch away from the OEM LED.

Do you have a video of the sequential turn signals? Are all of their headlights sequential?
