    Hey there folks -

I'm looking to see if anyone has had any experience the Morel's Virtus Nano speakers. The design looks fantastic for the shallow available mounting depth of the 2nd Gen Taco front doors.

I'm going to be updating the head unit and amp'ing the speakers in my 2014 Taco and I'm seriously considering these speakers. I'd be swapping out the stock 6x9's w/ adpaters housing these speakers in 6.5".

I had a set of Morel Tempo's in my old truck and I was quite happy with the warm, airy sound of them - I'm hoping for a similar experience with these guys.

I have not found a normal pair of speakers that DONT fit in the doors as far as depth goes

Even Crutchfield measured wrong. They said Kicker CS series wouldnt fit my front doors and they dropped right in. Pretty decent amount of depth.

Interesting. Thanks for the heads up gents - maybe I’ll just pick up a pair of tempos and see if they fit. Just to be clear, are you guys talking 6x9 or 6-1/2”s?

With that said, I’m still curious to hear from someone who’s demo’d the Virtus Nano’s since the speaker design is so much different than your typical woofer cone design.

    Both 6.5’s and 6x9’s

I know for the 3rd gen, they seem to think there is much less space than there is between the speaker/tweeter and the door panel itself. I’m not sure which measurement they have that’s wrong on the 2nd gen, but I’ve fit all kinds of stuff in there and never run into issues

Great speakers for the right application....

Tacomas are not the application for these speakers.

The speakers in the door pockets on a 1987 Rolls Royce Corniche are the perfect application for Nanos.
