    Bring this one back up.

I got a 07 DC AT, with just 126K on it and have started to see a really hard shift also on the past couple of weeks. I had notice this before, but it's been doing this more lately. Called Toyota and they said it might just need new Tranny fluid. I hope this is just all it is, I love my truck got it with only 24K back four years ago.

Has anyone that has changed the fluids notice the improvment?

What gear are we talking about? Mine does it since new at medium throttle at 40mph going into overdrive for some reason...feels like it locks up without slipping at all..kinda like on or off, nothing in between.

Won't happen if it shifts into OD at 35 or 45...

I had the hard shidt issue. Took it in for a tranny service... been smooth ever since. Night and day difference. 190 0000km on my rig.

I had what I think was a hard shifting issue, so I did a drain and fill and then a flush and fill to replace all 12L of Tranny Fluid. It improved the shifting a little bit, but it still has a slight delay between 2nd and 3rd which it then seems to over correct and shift into it harder than the other shifts. I notice this happen more once everything is warmed up, it doesn't do it as much when cold for some strange reason. I have no issues with down shifting, there is a very minor forward motion when shifting from park and into gear, but its very minor. I also noticed that the truck vibrates slightly when sitting on lights in gear (its intermittent, about 10 sec of vibration and then 10 sec of nothing) shifting into neutral will alleviate the vibration.

At this point I'm not sure if my transmission is about to die, or if this is just a common occurrence in these 2007 models.

I'd try adding some Lubegard to it and see if it improves. I hear that is good stuff for the Auto's on here

Disconnecting the battery for at least 3 minutes would be a good start as well

Wow, I had forgotten about making this post. Way back when. Lol
I have almost 150k on my truck now.

Still hard shift into 5th when cold. Sometimes I run it in 4th until warm.
Sometimes I don’t. Changing the fluid hasn’t helped one bit. Ever.

Since making this post, I’ve seen numerous other post with the same “issue”. At this point, I am considering it normal.

250,000 miles on my 06. Shifts hard out of park when warming up due to high rpms

My main tranny concern is the shudder. Sounds like this is due to the lock up for fuel economy. Mine only does it in overdrive at low speeds and throttle position. It is a severe shudder that shakes the entire vehicle
I can live with hard shifting but the shudder worries me

Have you read through this thread? Here is the part about TCC Shudder:

TORQUE CONVERTER CHATTER OR SHUDDER . RUMBLE STRIP
A very common problem with the A750 . A combination of mechanical spool valves and electrical solenoids are used to acheive lock up . Valve body wear is very common and all we as users can do about it is keep our oil super clean
For you guys with high mileage ......Read this http://www.sonnax.com/parts/1774
The SLU solenoid controls your torque converter lock up and is known to cause issues if flushing your oil doesnt help . If you suspect a converter issue , replace the SLU solenoid and change " all" the transmission fluid .The SLU solenoid can also be adjusted . Turning the screw in will increase pressure and possibly fix a shudder . Do not turn it in more than 1 turn .
Tap the brake pedal when you feel the truck vibrate . Tapping the brake will manipulate the brake switch and turn the converter lock up clutch off .keep your right foot on the gas and gently use your left foot to tap the brake . If the vibration goes away for a couple seconds , the lock up clutch or an engine missfire is your issue . This can " usually " be fixed by simply flushing your trans fluid . Some guys are getting owned because they didnt road force balance their tires using the Haweka adpater [IMG]tsu00296.pdf
There is also a flash available from Toyota [IMG]T-SB-0044-14.pdf and fluid additives from Lubeguard http://www.makcotransmissionparts.com/M465HA.html to stop the shudder but you will need to figure out if you have an engine issue or torque converter issue.
Lubeguard is well know in the transmission industry and works amazing for fixing converter shudders . You can see the product lower down in the threads .I would not post about Lubeguard if it didnt work . This post is designed to save you money , not waste it replacing your torque converter . Find some Lubeguard and "USE IT" You will find that I am going to push this product down your throats .

I just did but thank you for quick reply

It made me feel much better that it is a common problem. I have ran oversized tires for many years and worried that may have over stressed my tranny. Just regeared to 4.56 recently but still have the shudder in od at the specified speed from said thread and low throttle position. I’m happy to say other than that tranny has been solid
