It’s been a busy hunting season so far. It’s a fight to get a full day to go hunt. I’ve been seeing this 10 on a few of my cameras and really wanted to harvest him. Last weekend it all came together and I took him with my .308. Dropped him in his tracks.

Thanks to all of you posting your Kills this year. For now my hunting days are over. I did get lucky and shot me a decent 10 pointer for N.C. several years ago. So glad that I decided to have him mounted since shortly after that my back went to shit on me. Some very nice deer. Those midwest bucks can get really huge, and the western black tail, and mule deer are pretty dam big also.

    Keep the pics coming

Dam, that's a monster in my book, what did he weigh out, around 225 or better?

I've always believed Meat is Meat, never mattered to me buck or doe, but I believe the does are more tender since the buck are all swollen up from the rut.

Thanks for the likes. It’s amazing seeing the variety of deer posted here. I get they are all whitetail, but there can be a huge difference depending on region. I love seeing the big body deer from the north and the huge racks from the mid west and Texas. My deer came from N Florida hunting planted pine. Way different from my normal SW Florida swamp bucks.

Pretty good genetics, I don’t think we gotta worry about them being spread though

Had a little 3 point come out in us this evening. It acted a little weird after her shot and then I followed with a couple shots as it ran off the field. No blood of course, tomorrow we are going back to hunt for a bit and look some more in the daylight... But I have talked her into taking the .243 (her mom's) instead of the AR. It's a little big for her, the pull length I mean, but I'm tired of bullets not going all the way through if the deer ain't gonna drop. One way or another, the next one that comes out on us, stands much less a chance. Oh also my wife traded a doll house for a set of coveralls and a nice hunting jacket... We came out on top

Ain’t nothing wrong with the .243, I watched Cole drop 2 last year with his. One at 65 and one at 120 yards. Good luck to y’all

Yeah every deer I have killed with a gun was 100 gr traveling pert near 3k fps when exiting the barrel. I thought that was gonna change Saturday but it seems the mosin missed it's mark with 200 yards out and free handed...
