The passenger side is said to be a ball bearing that doesn't have this issue.

Mine vibed since almost new and would come and go. Finally replaced it at 55k. Looked great once it was out, but the bushing is the superior solution, other than the manual hub mod.

How does this vibration show up in stock height trucks? Is it the 30-20 deceleration vibration or something different?

There is a TSB for it on some 3rd gen Tacomas. It's been an issue for Toyota on stock vehicles for years.

Both sides of the diff have the same needle bearing, but the passenger side axle doesn't fit into the diff, it fits into an intermediate shaft that does have a ball bearing to support the CV. So while there is a needle bearing on both sides, it is only an issue on the LH side where the CV applies radial loading onto said bearing.

On a 3" lift with the needle bearing. I don't feel any vibrations yet. I'll wait until I do until I address it.
