NOT having an accident is actually a really SHITTY way to measure being a GOOD driver. That's like saying you are a clean person because you don't piss yourself.

Don't make false comparison. Nobody ever said you cannot be a GOOD driver without LDA, but you can be a BETTER driver WITH it. You act like its all or nothing, that is not true. You are making my point, GOOD drivers get good because they see what they can be better at, shitty drivers think they are already good drivers and thus never learn.

    yeah, ok...

So, if you don't suck at staying in your lane, then how did you even know you had LDA?...

arrogance is not the same as skill

Agreed. I cut my seatbelts right out. Makes the truck lighter which means I can stop quicker. Making me even safer. Gained 1 mpg too.

Disclaimer: Mine is off as well. But I don't go around posturing about how good of a driver I am. Shit happens. These things are there to prevent shit if you choose so. That choice doesn't make you a worse driver than anyone else.

I think I remember a sensitivity setting somewhere for it.

uh, what? I'm not the one here who won't use the sensor because they "don't need it". interesting how you didn't address my point before and now want to make it about me. deflecting much? great attempt at conjecture there though, its amazing how much you implied from my comments.

but first tell us why YOU cannot have it on since I was the one who made that point first, which you now seem to desperately want to avoid. Oh wait, it wouldn't be because you are "so good" at driving, would it?

FWIW. I was thankful that a rental car had the LDA feature.

I had just endured a 26 hour journey from mainland China to Chicago O'Hare. I was facing a 5 hour drive to get home, battling fatigue and 13 hour time shift (aka jet lag). My plane landed at 2 pm CST, my body was on China time, to me it was 3 am.

The drive across West Illinois is not very interesting. I was fighting to maintain focus. Lane drift occurred several times.

The LDA has a purpose. Specifically for inattentive or groggy drivers.

If you need it disabled, I'm sure instructions are in the Owner's Manual.

I could be wrong, but I think the only sensitivity setting for the headlights is for how dark it gets before the auto headlights come on (as opposed to a sensitivity setting for the auto-high/low beam).

I get the strong feeling from your short history around here that you really love controversy, since just almost every post I’ve seen of yours is you talking down to someone else. I don’t know how old you are, but if I had to guess, I’d say 16.

sweetheart you can make up whatever stories you want, it says more about you then it says about me. And don’t talk about reading comprehension to others there when you failed so badly at it

In the end you can be a good driver, in the end though your pride is preventing you from being a better one.

so you attempted to claim I’m the one talking down to others, by doing exactly that? Then claim I’m the one trying to stir controversy? What exactly are you intending with your comment?

    wow
    here is your sign.

No I’m calling you out for acting like a child, and you proved it yet again. When you join a forum and immediately start prancing around like a rude know it all for the first couple months, people notice. That’s all we’ve seen out of you.

Definitely handy, and unlock the stupid engine start/stop button in other vehicles I've driven, all the safety stuff will stay off next time the Tacoma is started up again. I really like LDA when doing longer road trips or driving when I'm a bit tired, but it's good to be able to turn it off in the city or when dealing with weird traffic features that will set it off too often.

Hugs and kisses, and keep that alert off, would hate for that darn beeping to interrupt you telling yourself how perfect you are.

This thread reminds me of that old saying, “Never play chess with a pigeon. It’ll just knock all the pieces over, shit all over the board, and then strut around like it won.”

Honestly if it saves one life a month it's worth it.

Lots of distracted drivers. Lots of medical issues. Lots of DUI losers.

LDA with steering assist is coming to all trucks and it will prevent accidents.

Turn it off, but don't act like you're better than everyone else
