Any suggestions for a cell phone mount. Something I can use for videoing my off road adventures. Then a coffee maker for single person use that will work with my 800 watt inverter. I was really hoping for a Target or Wallyworld on the way. Anyhow I just got done changing or topping off all fluids, greasing zerks, and loading all my tools and recovery gear. I still need to pack. It is getting late. TY

I use a kettle and V60 for my coffee. But an aero press works wonders too. Of course, you’ll need propane and something like a jet boil or other stove, but then you can cook on the road too. 66AEAEAC-1823-4677-A6D4-B1AFB8B34D3A.jpg

I did the ram mount mod in my truck. Probably can’t do that on the fly but I highly recommend it

I have the ram mount but it’s hard to make it view driving. One option might be dash cam.

I kind of want the expedition essentials top mount but don’t know much about it, way to set it up, or what it comes with
Just that it being the only thing in stock now for the center area would give the phone easier access

my a pillar ram mount means having the charging cable dangle by the steering wheel and it’s not easy to mess with by hand or change songs but for sure cheaper

plus idk if expedition essentials is permanent or if I want to change anything later on that it bolts to such as color from grey to black, facelift parts convert from gen2 to 2.5, adding big screen with CarPlay and backup cam, etc
(It bolts into the console area)

I like having the pillar ram mount as a backup option if I absolutely have to use my phone in an area or trail where it’s GPS will be more accurate than my Garmin but other than that I barely use it. I keep the holder off in my glovebox and it’s just the ball there now visible that it clamps onto when not in use

I was always told to conserve usage to keep functions off in the phone and only manually turn them on when needed. Such as cellular data: Google maps, privacy settings: location services ON

so the whole “get out the holder, turn everything on in the phone” ends up being a lot more of a hassle than just slapping on the Garmin in seconds. Which even though the unit/hardware is old, the software is up to date if that makes any difference

Pilar RAM is better to have than not have
But also not magically good IMO

Look up taco garage DMM. And EE 2TPAM. I forget their other one.
TechDeck is out of stock. The other ones like TechDeck the guy on here no longer makes/sells. I don't know if there's any other options on the market.

I just put the pillar ram mount on the passenger side. I like it a lot more over there than right up in my face
