Whos a good vendor to buy from? When i do i tell them zero lift, since im stock truck?

Night and day difference with my truck. Installed the fox 2.0 Coilovers (lifted the truck 1.5 inches) and it’s amazing compared to the stock hitachi shocks on the TRD Sport. A little bit more body roll but other than that it feels great on and off road. The kit cost me nearly $1.1k USD

the height is adjustable and it can be installed at the stock height and up to 2 inches

Shock absorbers create a resistance force that is proportional to the velocity that the suspension is moving. Small cracks cause low amplitude, high velocity vibrations and I’m guessing that the shock can be considered completely rigid with respect to them. Vibrations like that are soaked up by tires, bushings, and body mounts.

I’m not sure what you mean by “planted though turns”. Are you referring to sway? If so, shock absorbers have little effect on that unless you are turning hard right and left repeatedly. Controlling sway is the job of the sway bar and springs. Some race cars also use the bump stops to control it.

Another way to think about shock absorbers is in terms of energy conservation. Shock absorbers convert the kinetic energy (movement energy) to heat. Without shock absorbers, the truck would bounce up and down like a pogo stick because the kinetic energy would not dissipate. (Caveat: the springs on your truck are not perfect springs and do lose energy, but much slower than a shock).

My shocks(not kings) have compression and rebound adjusters. Without changing anything on my truck except a dial or two on the shocks, I can change how it feels over bumps and the amount of body roll in turns.
