Is PPF worth getting on your front bumper, full hood and mirrors?
Cost is $1299 plus tax (Canadian)
Any advice pros/cons would be appreciated.

    Not to me.

But it may work for you and your conditions.

I do think that both the product brand and the skill of the applicator are critical though.

Do they do the full hood? I thought they only did the front section of it. I have it on mine. $1300 seems a little steep though. That would equal about $1k US and I paid $880 for mine, as it's listed on the Toyota website. Are they charging the rest for installation or is this a new off the lot vehicle?

It depends on how particular you are about your truck. The paint on vehicles these days chips pretty easily. That’s why I got it on mine.

Price varies by location. Just look up reviews to make sure it’s a reputable place.

I can't speak to the cost, as my Tacoma came with it new. However I quickly noticed dirt can get under the edges of the film and it is pretty much impossible to get out. Mine has it on the hood, mirrors, and in front of/behind rear wheels...which is where it's the worst by far. If you have a light colored truck like mine (white), you will notice it a lot more than perhaps on a darker color. But I can see the value of having the film on there

The quote is for the full hood. I have heard that dirt can be noticed on the edges of the film. XPEL is the name of the protection film.
I would get a hood deflector but I don't want one on a white truck.

here is a thread I made.
make sure you do your research not all PPF installers are good. make sure edges are properly and neatly wrapped where need be. If done properly Xpel is far superior to the cheap crap Toyota offers.

I got the front protection. Everything around the grille, headlight and the first 12 inches or so on the hood. Based on my previous vehicles, this is usually where paint will chip first if you catch rocks on the highway or get sprayed in the winter by slush mixed with rock and salt. It was around $500 CAN installed by the dealer.

I got the front of the hood, front of the front fenders, under the door handles, and the ridge across the tailgate all done for about $550 USD by the Cadillac / BMW / Mercedes dealership in town. They did a great job. I skipped the grille and bumper, figuring that anything made of plastic won’t rust and therefore doesn’t concern me as much.

Mine came with it. I guess it helps with the rock chips, but I’d almost rather deal with the chips than having the permanent dirt line under the edge of the vinyl.

So far i haven't had any paint chips after nearly 2 years, and almost 14k miles. I had a professional glass coat done on the truck before taking delivery. Cost was about half of the op's quote.
