Got 2010 TRD serviced with radiator flush due to the fluid levels adjust themselves. When I check the overflow tank cold the fluid is sitting above the low mark about half a inch. This is unusual because when I checked my overflow cold before it was way higher. When I check the truck hot it also doesn’t read full anymore like it used to but right in the middle between low and full. This is all irritating to me because still after the flush it reads the same!

let me note that around the time the fluid levels adjusted in the overflow I saw residual antifreeze burped up outside the overflow tank is this normal??

This is a separate issue but after the service it was noted by the technician that supposedly the front crank case seal was recommended for replacement. This is news to me because I never leak on my driveway.

I think you are way over thinking a non-problem.

your post is less legible then a jehovah's witness pamphlet

if your radiator cap is full with the engine cold, you are fine.
The correct coolant must be used, vacuum-filled.
It will typically rise to operating temp and stay there upon driving.

And so is the Bible but it’s the number one selling book in the world.I know I sound belligerent but let’s get real here I’m talking about a coolant system. There is no explanation as to why the coolant levels have lowered no matter when I check them.

No of course there is no overheating my tone would be alot different if that happened. But what is the magical explanation here?I will try to check in the morning when the truck has sat over night and see if the levels perched up.

    How is the truck running??
The majority of posts here are new owners making mountains out of mole hills.
If the truck is running fine, stop watching fluid levels. You won’t make friends with the service manager bitching about NON ISSUES.

Coolant can flow between the radiator and overflow based on operating temp and cap functioning properly.
If original cap then replace it with a new OEM one as its time for a 2010. Read the lbs pressure on truck now and get the correct one. OEM has several pressures to buy.
With radiator full when cold fill reservoir to between low and high. If your original post is relating level before coolant flush to after it depends on tech filling after a cold/hot/cold run cycle and they never take the time so just pour some distilled water in to the correct cold level if already close or you will have to buy a whole gallon of coolant at the dealer. You can top off when hot to hit that full line of course.

This actually reminds me of something.I noticed that when these fluid levels adjusted that there was a little bit of dried residual pink anti freeze outside the overflow tank that burped out.Is this supposed to happen every now and then?? I tried researching this and it can or cannot be due to a boil over which is caused by many things including a bad radiator cap.Im weary as to if my radiator cap is fluctuation properly since it’s old.

Put a new one on and forget it.

Make sure the radiator is full, maybe do a burping procedure if it makes you feel good.

The overflow should have markings for cold/hot levels. After you're done with the radiator, pick one and top the overflow to that level.

Make sure the radiator to overflow hose is in good shape.

Pretty basic stuff. You can either learn to DIY or pay the dealership. If you aren't DIY inclined, and have to check the dealerships work, you need a new mechanic. In fact, a good independent mechanic should save you some $ over dealership rates.

The plastic overflow/reservoir is vented via a small molded tube you can see so if big bumps/offroad/abrupt maneuvers some coolant can sloop out thru the residue - normal.

Are you saying you saw liquid coolant bubbling out of the expansion reservoir? Try replacing the radiator cap first and see what happens

Sounds like normal function to me.

If the coolant reservoir is overfilled and the radiator purges coolant into the reservoir, then it may overflow through the vent tube out onto the ground. When everything cools down, the radiator will pull some coolant from the reservoir.

This why using the reservoir to check coolant level is a mistake. The purpose of the reservoir is to hold coolant to compensate for the expansion/contraction of the system.

OP. Replace your radiator cap with an OEM cap. Fill the radiator, fill the reservoir to the Cold mark. Close everything up. Go for a 15-20 mile drive. When the engine cools off, check the coolant levels, add as needed. Don't expect the reservoir to maintain a consistent level.

I’m afraid to replace the new radiator cap as well I figure I’m going to just buy a diagnostic
No there is just a tiny amount of pink ant freeze like a “squirt” mark.Anyway I checked coolant this morning and the coolant in reservoir says low. When hot the coolant is in the middle between low and full.
