For your 6-speed did you swap the Taco trans for the trans from an FJ? What's the plan for the 5-speed? Make an adapter to go from the 5-speed transmission output to the transfer case input with a filler to close the gap between the transmission and transfer case? Or teardown the 5-speed and replace the output with the output from the FJ to take the AWD case?

No sir, running the stock RA60F that came in the truck. The FJ case is a direct bolt in for the 6spd trucks. Just need Auto trans driveshafts and you're in business

The plan with the 5 spd is to use a Northwestfab ecocrawler as an adapter of sorts. They made an option that will bolt up to the 5spd, and then you take the planetaries/input out of an Auto Trans FJ case and use that in the crawl box so it will mate up to the trans. Then i have to split the AWD case and swap inputs for the EcoCrawler input shaft. Then that should allow the AWD case to mate up to the crawl box and everything should work in theory. Then it's just a matter of custom driveshafts and adding all the stuff for the front diff, axles, etc.

Not sure I follow most of that, but it sounds like a hell of a project.

Anyone know how to make the rear e-locker work after FJ case swap if you go the route of unplugging 4wd harness after putting truck into 4wd?

You are on the right route, locker anytime mod is the solution.

Mine works after the locker anytime mod

Will the locker anytime mod work when my 4wd ECU is unplugged?

I've got a forward shift case lever I won't be using I am willing to part with, not sure if it's the same bolt pattern or not.

Sorry, I should have specified. Looking for a Top shift lever. Transfer shift lever from a 07-14 manual transmission FJ Cruiser. Toyota # 3636035580

I'm prepared to order a new one but figured I'd ask first, as it's likely someone has one laying around.

Will this transfer case work with a 2007 Tacoma 6speed? The guy on Craigslist told me he bought it for his 06 tundra649D635E-E8AC-4CF9-93A2-2CE54E1DAC2C.jpgD44B7721-C354-4EB4-953A-D2C46D817247.jpg

It looks like it would. Im assuming his tundra had the 4.0 V6 in it. You will need to swap the input shaft over from your current case because you’re a 6 speed.

I was curious because the spline on that output is a female and usually it’s a male splined output that I keep seeing on this thread. He said he purchased this from RST a couple years ago. If I’m not mistaken he said he had a v8.

It depends on the transmission which is why I mentioned swapping the input shaft. The one on there in your pic is how they come from the factory but it's easy enough to crack open that case and your current case and swap them over. Also I have no idea what t case was used on the V8, it very well could be the same. I was just speculating because I know the first gen tundras also came with the 4.0 V6 that comes in our trucks.

That's the input shaft, and the splines on all the FJ cases are male, there is a coupler on your picture to adapt to a 23 male output spline at the transmission for a truck with the slush box. The 6 speed transfer case will require a 22 spline male thread to engage into the transmission.

Late to the game, but with RST forum gone, is there a complete parts list and step-by-step-for-idiots for a dual stick swap?

*I would also accept, as an answer, the name of anyone willing to sell said complete parts to me.*

Between these two threads it should be enough instruction and pics for you hopefully.
