Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!
I've never used nav software until a few days ago. I had simple trip, around 15 miles and a half dozen turns, so I figured this would be a good test of Waze. After the first 3 minutes, I was ready to strangle Amy (the default voice). "TURN LEFT!" "TURN RIGHT!" "MAKE A U-TURN!". I'm like "I know how to get where I'm going, why don't you? That's YOUR job."

Even though it was less than useless, I left it on and even let it misdirect me once to see how well it would recover (not very well). Needless to say I gave it a rest on the return trip.

When I got back home, I looked for other people's experience with Waze and learned that, while it was once THE app to use, it was bought by Google with the intent of sinking it to bolster use of Google Maps.

So what nav apps is everyone else using? I'd prefer to stay out of Googleland and Amazonia. I've had my fill of those two lately.

I'm in a similar boat. Currently trying out OsmAnd, Gai GPS, Rever and Locus Maps.

    Gmaps.

I also have a copy of copilot on my phone but rarely use it, it's fully offline though.

She runs. What more can I ask for?
    Waze for everyday use.
If I don't have service the 'offline maps' feature on Google Maps is handy to have.

I use Magic Earth on my burner phones. It's an offline navigation app for both Android and iOS.
