    3060?
    3070?
    3080?
    or 3090?
    These prices are nuts!

Looks like an 8 gig 3070 asus tuff card is $1500. My bottle neck will be my 4770k correct? Should I just keep my 1080's and upgrade my Mobo/cpu?

According to this chart, the 3060 is not even worth the upgrade, correct?

    https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-RTX-3060-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1080/4105vs3603

But the 3070 would be an "ok" upgrade?

    https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-RTX-3070-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1080/4083vs3603

    I can't see spending the money on a 3080.

What resolution are you gaming on? What's your monitors refresh rate? Does it have g-sync? What kind of games do you play? Do you want/need any RTX features like NVENC, the streamers tools, or ray tracing? Lots of questions.

Don't pay $1500 for a 3070 lol. That's more than what I paid for my 3080Ti a few weeks ago.

    2560x1440 @ 144 hz.
BF2042 is my most gpu taxed game atm.
No need for streaming or any of that other stuff.

It does have g sync, but ive never used it.
I think the one time I used it, my system freaked out.

Also, i'm running SLI. Despite most games NOT supporting it, it does look luke I get a small boost from running it.

Well BF2042 is hot garbage on PC. No offense to the game if you enjoy it, I mean lots of videos are out showing changing settings above medium does little to nothing to improve the look of the game or the frame rate. Enabling DLSS doesn't even change anything. Whatever they did to Frostbite it really can't take advantage of newer cards.

Honestly the 1080 is right up there with the 3060 and at 1440/144 you're not really pushing a need to get a card today. I'd keep my eye out for something in your price range, maybe a 3070Ti or 3080, but I'd be in no rush for something new until you need DLSS or a RTX feature. If you played more competitive shooters that can easily be driven past 240 fps on a 240 hz panel at 1440P my answer would be different.

a 3080ti would be sweet if I could find one for under $1500.

Naw, nothing really competetive. I just enjoy all the eye candy more than the speed/competetivness.
I think i'm running about 60-70fps in 2042 on med.

I paid $2000 CAD (roughly $1560 USD) for mine a few weeks ago like I said. That's about where they are. The MSRP doesn't mean anything anymore since AIB partners (that's Asus, MSI, etc) have to raise their prices because of the tariffs placed on Chinese goods. Do you have a Microcenter nearby? Best bet is to check brick and mortar stores regularly.

Jay did another video with the post launch version of the game and he still couldn't get more than 80 fps at 4K with a 3090. He even turned DLSS on and off and the FPS didn't change lol. Games borked on the hardware side. Probably an issue where they made optimizations for console that have broken the ability of the software to push past a certain FPS.

I was catching up on this thread a bit ago and didn't realize how crazy the market is for GPUs right now. Looks like I caught a break back in 2019 when I bought my RTX 2080. The same card is selling used for twice what I paid for it, and a little more than three times less than a new 3080.

Lots of video card chat here. Anyone here familiar with AutoCad and Revit (with Enscape add-on)?
I have a fairly top-end PC (10th Gen, from about this time last year), and I'm considering upgrading my video card. At the time, I had to settle on an Asus ROG Strix 3070. And although it has performed okay, I'm very interested in going up to a 3080 (minimum), or possibly a 3080 ti...or possibly a 3090 (depending on price and availability).
I'm a slight bit underwhelmed with the 3070, using Enscape. And I've been trying to find anyone with experience using Enscape with a 3080, or above..
    Anyone here fit that criteria?

Not sure it's your card, Pugeot Systems ran a benchmark in 2020 that didn't seem to seem to show much of a difference between professional cards
Even ones that were based off the 1050Ti passed the benchmarks well. Could it be something else?

You may consider a Quadro for modeling and rendering over the GeForce.

I have tailored the system to run AutoCad and Revit very well. Revit more so..
Revit really likes Intel, and high clock speeds. So I went with a 10900K. I put in WAY more Ram than I'd ever need (64 GBs). I'm using the higher end Samsung NVME SSD.
The Revit Add-on Enscape, is essentially like a 'first person shooter' type computer game. Very reliant on a good gamer type video card. The base software of Revit really doesn't need much of a video boost. It's all Enscape..
I just notice some sluggish behavior, and occasional 'video crash to the desktop' occurrences. And wonder if the 3070 is the reason. And my AutoCad will also occasionally have a video error, and disable the video hardware accelerator function. Hard to tell if that's just the occasional bug in the software....or what..

    Nope. That's old-school thinking.

Revit, with Enscape....is VERY akin to high-end gamer setups.
