I've read many of the noise posts but mine is still unsolved. It sounds like a Wahl hair trimmer turning on. It seems to come from near the back of the engine but for sure outside the cab. I hear it just as I hit 1750 rpm in all gears, so in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and then finally in 4th as my speed hits about 51 mph. As I pass 1750, say 1850 it goes away but returns with each change in gear when at 1750. It only happens when moving/driving so I don't think it is the belt tensioner. Reminds me of a heat shield vibrating against a pipe but more electrical.

    Thanks
