Have you heard of the Topper Tent? It is a soft roll-up tent door that attaches to your shell and extends down to the open tailgate to let you sleep in your truckbed with the tailgate down, giving you extra sleeping length and an easy entry/exit zip door. If you're like me, you're a little too tall to sleep in your truckbed with the tailgate up. This looks like a simple solution that is easy to set up and take down:

I've placed an order for one, I thought I'd get the word out to fellow Tacoma owners to help fund this project out of Denver CO and bring it to production.

Cool idea. Combine this with something like a GFC and you would have a pretty sweet set up.

I like the simplicity of this, and the fact that you can roll it up to attach inside of the camper shell. That is pretty cool. It seems even easier to put up than my DAC tent, which is already pretty easy. The one part I don't like is the lack of a mesh window/door. You are either closed in or open to the elements, there is no in between. That would be a deal breaker for me.

I bet you could use it in conjunction with one of those magnetic screen doors. You would have to modify the screen door thing for size and mounting etc.

I made something similar to this before. It does the trick, but I’d like a more functioning door like this plus use all the tailgate space. Are they selling these yet?

Nice addition! I just have figured out how to have a soft topper AND my kodiak canvas tent at the same time. Works well, protects the gear and is easy set up. Still working on some attachment points to make it more effecient, but it works well so far. Total weight for both is under 100 lbs.

    Nothing worthy
I see this product from your pics works well with a hard shell. This is what we bought with our softtopper, another option for those interested too. May not work well with a hard shell because the way the "door" opens up, but thought i'd crime in. Really nice with the screen door and provides plenty of space on the gate. https://softopper.com/products/camper-top-tent/
