    Hi all,

First post here. Have a 22" Off Road coming in the next month, and looking at options for side steps. I like the round 4" or 5" from the various manufacturers I've seen, but I'm not a huge fan of the few inches of gap they leave. Does anyone have one they recommend where the step is higher/closer to the truck body they recommend?

    Oh look, another mod....

If you want little to no gap, get rock sliders. They will provide full cab length protection and have a very small gap.

Are you wanting steps or sliders that will double up as steps?

Will make a difference in the answers you get.

I'm not worried about protection, won't be doing any rock climbing, but would prefer something that mounts to the mounting rails v.s. the frame.

I like the look of these but the pics I've seen leave a gap I'm not too fond of.

I like the look that I see here with the OEM ones but I'm curious if anyone has a decent pic of it on their truck instead, I'm only basing it on the tiny pic.

I had those OEM 5 Toyota on my 2008 Speedway Blue Tacoma

And the Westin 5 Pro Traxx on my new 2021and there is a 2-3 inch gap between the step and the cab.
