The funny thing in Canada is that Off road only with short bed. Saved a whole bunch of people with choice difficulty. I personally like the look of Off road, looks better than the sport. Also, short bed has better cabin bed ratio somehow, but yes, the bed is little small.

The long beds on the trail limos are identical in interior dimensions to your previous access cab bed.

Anyone who says double cab long bed is not capable off-road clearly doesn't know what they're talking about.

The long wheel base actually lends itself to hill climbs and slick rock such as the stuff you find out in Utah and Wyoming. They're also perfect for Forest roads and carrying gear.

Everyone secretly wants a trail limo. And they look utterly sick when they're built up.

How often did you sleep in the beds of your previous trucks?

Those short bed things are not even trucks, they are trucklets.

All depends on what you intend to use it for. I originally got mine to haul my motorcycle so I wanted the extra space so I could close the bed for track days. Every now and then I look at my truck and think “damn this thing is a bus” but then shortly after I’ll use it like it’s Intended (like a truck) and then I’m happy again. Anyone that tells you they aren’t capable off road are obviously not very experienced at actually trailing. I have taken mine light rock crawling, through Moab and numerous trips (mainly to Starbucks and gas stations) and it does perfectly fine. I have only been stuck twice due to wheel base. One was coming over a hill with a very steep downhill that probably could have been done better on my part and once rock crawling going up something steep. Other than that it’s done everything I have asked of it. The only thing I will say is if you start trailing and there are tight turns it’s a little annoying and you have to make multiple point turns but it is all still doable. Here are a few random pics of the long bed in action lol

edit: I also went from an RTT to a ground tent (Gazelle T4) and love it. If you plan on sleeping in the back I’d go long bed unless you don’t mind curling up like a small child lol. Maybe think on a short bed and sleeping in a tent and getting a decked drawer system for organization.

My vote is long bed. I have an access cab so I’m biased but I wouldn’t have a double cab short bed as even with a long bed I fill it totally up when I go camping even with the RTT up top.

Not enough bandwidth on the internet to list.
I thought for sure I was going to buy a DCSB as my first Toyota back in July. The dealer had a DCLB equipped exactly as I wanted. I went and looked at it and drove it home that day. I think the DCSB is a cool looking rig but boy, that extra bed space and wheelbase is great. I keep thinking, everytime I mess with all the molle panels I have in the bed and misc gear, how glad I am to have DCLB.

First of all, the DCLB has a 6’2” bed. Second of all, the wheelbase is still shorter than that of a full-size DCSB truck such as the Raptor. Third, the DCSB dimensions look a little ridiculous. Get the DCLB and have zero regrets.

The DSCB looks like 6 foot tall man with the legs of a 5’5” man. It’s just “off”.

I've had 5 toyota trucks, only one has had the short bed.

Never again, I've learned my lesson.

Longer wheelbase also tracks better on the highway and when towing.

As for a rooftop tent, there's a great video out there on its disadvantages, particularly about having to break it down every time you need to move the truck, how dirty it gets riding on top all the time and being limited to walking distance if you don't want to break it down. All of that "fun" for $1800-2500 instead of $200 for a decent ground tent.... no thanks.

    EDIT: Here you go.

    get the long bed.

unless you're trying to squeeze into parking spaces or just feel uncomfortable driving the 1' longer vehicle, you're not going to regret the long bed.

DCLB TRD rides better. That was the determining factor when I bought my 2018.
