Can I take an engine out of a 2014 automatic Tacoma and put it in a 2014 manual Tacoma?

Are you keeping the manual,,, or doing a auto swap too. 4 wheel or 2. If you are doing a man to auto swap, cross member is different..

I’m keeping the manual it’s 4x4 I just want to change the motor. The engine is coming out of an automatic 4x4 and mines a manual 4x4

Don't expect that the ECMs will be compatible, ideally you will be able to get away with just a reprogramming.

Possibly; I doubt that an ECM installed in a vehicle with an automatic trans will talk to a standard TCM. You may also run into issues with PATS; I'm not sure how Toyota manages that, but it could turn out to be a pain. There are lots of people here who can advise you on how that works. Hopefully they will chime in.

The engines are the same just make sure you use the engine harness off the engine that belongs to the truck and you should be good.
Also before you put the new engine in make sure no critters chewed on the knock sensor wires as they like to do.
