20-9026 K&N throttle control module? Anyone heard of this? 2.7 engine

Just found this while looking at oil filters, never saw anyone talk about it here. Anyone try it?

Not sure but it seems like a little trick to just make the car think you stepped on the gas harder...

 

Yeah amplifies the throttle by wire signal coming from the ecu...you can build one for $30 bucks with off the shelf parts from Amazon\Ebay and they want $300!

 

LoL ok thanks figured it was just some hype since it doesn't modify your ECU settings.

 

So...uh, anyone actually try this thing?

 

You can build one yourself? Please enlighten me. Anything of that kind costs about $400 here in canada.

 

Similar to that, I have the SprintBooster on my 4.0 4Runner and it's sooooooo much better. I don't need to plan my lane change 36 secs ahead.

Easy install and I can set it and I can pull the control module to make it completely invisible.

 

Haven’t done it myself, but conceptually you just need a rugged Arduino that can take an input voltage to remap a linear input to a curved output. You’d have to source some oem connectors, but those are probably available.

I’m just thinking out loud though, could be full of nonsense.

 

i dunno about the one for the 2.7, but the sprint booster for the 3.5 made a heck of a difference. the throttle gating and lag is completely gone. i recently got ovt and im still running sb.

 

The tiny Sprint Booster remote sure would fit nicely in a custom 3D printed panel-switch case.

 

I stuck to an open button spot. Easy peasy.

Thinking of getting one, but which is the best one for my 2017 Tacoma v6:
Sprint booster, k&n throttle or pedal commander? I have already upgraded my intake to the k&n and love that it sounds badass when I hit it hard but there still is a lag as it sucks air in..will one of these be worth the cost? Thanks.
