Hi all. I wanted to double-check with the brain trust here to see if my thinking is correct. I was looking at the TRD cold air intake but don't want to spend $350 +/- on it. From what I've read it seems like the actual "working" parts of the whole thing are the Intake Flow Accelerator (PTR03-35160) and the TRD Performance Air Filter. As long as I don't mind foregoing the red TRD eye candy (which to me is all under the hood, so who cares), I can do the upgrade for less than $80 and just leave the OEM box and hose in place. Is my thinking correct and would this be a worthwhile upgrade? Thanks :)

Yes, those are the parts you need.

You can also add HPS 57-1600 tube that removes the resonator for more noise.

I did all 3 and very happy with the outcome.

Stock (for now) with some mild conveniences thanks to Amazon.
Could this be under a different part #? I have not been able to locate it on their parts website.

Isn’t the TRD tube sold separately as well?

I installed parts in stages to see/feel/hear if there were any differences. I had already installed the TRD aftermarket one-piece stainless steel exhaust one month after I got the truck brand new.
I installed the HPS tube then a few weeks later installed a Green Filter, and then a few weeks later the Intake Flow Accelerator.
The tube and filter did give a quicker throttle response and registered on my butt dyno which resides at 7000'.
The Intake Flow Accelerator quieted the induction noise and did not register on my butt dyno.

Then I did the OV 91/93 octane tune which made it all better.

So I installed the tube and IFA, does the stock air filter have more restrictions that the green, K@N filters?
