I understand Toyota wants to give customers an incentive to buy TRD PRO models but charging $400 for a grill garnish and $400 for 1! fender flare is taking it too far.

Has anyone gone to Mexico to buy parts? I'm sure there is a market there, considering some plants are located there.

I'd be willing to make the drive and put the parts on my truck to avoid any customs procedures. Any information would help.

    Thanks
    Ribby

I also don't think your auto insurance covers you in Mexico (mine doesn't), but maybe it's different for residents of southern CA.

As far as the auto insurance, you'd need to get your insurance company to issue a card for mexico or canada to cover you there. I have one for canada. It will save major headaches/time if your involved in an accident there.

Have fun driving back across with a bunch of car parts. I’m sure there would be an issue unless they were used.

Except, here in Cali our gas price is astronomical. May have to drive a Prius down.

Don't knock Prius. Guarantee my 2015 hauls and tows more than my 2019 ZR1.

    This thread is funny!

Thanks for the TJ mentions...food & stuff...I'm from SoCal/LA area and always made jokes about TJ (Tijuana) back in the day! (80s)

Agreed with the "by the non-OEM" garnish ($44.99) and return it if it doesn't work.

I got the TRD Pro Style Grill & Garnish for $182 this past Monday...just waiting for release as they have to wait for some of the parts to arrive to their location before shipment.
