2020 Tacoma OEM LED Headlight Megathread

That mark there is normal, just from assembly is assume.

Dont worry who you order from, it’s a crap shoot. I’ve ordered probably a good dozen sets now from all the different dealers you see mentioned in this thread and 50% of them show up with atleast one headlight being damaged.

Yeah, stopped my my local Toyota dealer after dropping both of those off at the post office and looked at a cpo with led's. I realized that the right side pro headlight I had was perfectly fine. Oops.

They're sending two new replacements, so I'll roll the dice again with fingers crossed.

Here's how mine came packaged. A piece of thin styrofoam sheet paper sandwiched between two pieces of cardboard inside a box. I think Toyota could do better. They look sweet though.

 

Thats absolutely garbage packaging for something that expensive…

 

What's weird is the broken trd left side one had a bunch of smears all over the lense. Almost like dirty fingerprints on a used headlight.

Yeah, the packaging leaves a lot to be desired for sure. That was the main reason I ordered from parts.toyota.com and picked them up from my local dealership. If they were broken the dealer would be the one to deal with return/replacement.

I got some headlights packaged like that just a few months ago and they were fine.

also had other headlights come super packaged, double boxed that were fine also



Maybe it’s just the carrier that’s not great. But, there should be a lot more packaging for sure

 

I can confirm the packaging still sucks. It's amazing that they leave a manufacturing facility with such little protection for how expensive/fragile/heavy they are.

Doing the work Toyota should have from the factory. TRD PRO headlights with the badges removed

 

Just installed the "non-pro" OEM LED's on my '21 OR that originally came with the halogens. Props to @daveeasa for the high-quality wiring harness and fast shipping.

 

I'm making progress. The front bumper clip is fighting me where it connects to the front fenders.

 

Just curious, how would vinyl decal look over the TRD and Pro? Any do that yet? Might not even be worth trying but thought of it after remembering the vinyl for the chrome on the tail lights that are floating around here somewhere.

 

Finally back together! Just need to adjust the passenger side fog a pinch and maybe do something about that chrome cheese grater grill.
