    Hi fellow Toyota friends
I got in a bit of an accident turning left at an unprotected light the other day & got hit by oncoming traffic. She hit my left side bumper/ head light, while I tried to drive off after insurance and everything was handled but my wheel wouldn’t turn.. I was thinking it was because my bumper was hitting my tire but then fluid started to leak out thinking it’s my power steering fluid? My steering wheel felt stiff so I’m hoping that’s what it is.. anyways thoughts on this?

    Yellow-ish fluid. Could be brakes.

Seems like a fairly large leak. Take some pictures under the truck. Steering rack would be helpful. Also check your brake and power steering tanks, if that’s it, one should show low.

Ok thank you.. I did drive it a bit and so did the tow truck guy just to get it on and off the tow and breaks seemed to be working just fine. Would the breaks be completely out if that was the case?

Brakes are cross linked/matched for safety. So rear left is matched to front right, rear right to front left. Less chance of a total brake outage.

Regardless, the insurance will want a professional mechanic to do an estimate, then you will know. Good luck.

Did you get this resolved yet? The fluid lines going to the steering rack appear out of place. It's almost as if the rack had been shifted out of position by the accident:

Could be power steering fluid if the system is not filled with ATF-- traditional mineral-based PS fluid comes clear and turns yellow
