2017 Tacoma

 

I'm not that old so my first car was my father's 2012 Chevy Cruze and then I currently have my Tacoma.
Believe it or not when I got the Cruze it had 108k on it and it still had its original factory tires and brakes.

 

In chronological order of ownership (no relationship at all to the model year of the vehicle): Bought the first one listed in 1986, latest one brand new in March 2017.

1. 1976 Volvo 163 4 door sedan (maroon)
2. 1980 Toyota Hilux, reg cab, 2WD, 20R, 4 speed (yellow)
3. 1987 Ford F250 4x4, reg cab, 6.9L Navistar diesel (dark grey)
4. 2001 Dodge Cummins 2500, 4x4, 6 speed manual, "quad cab" (or in Toyota speak - "access cab") (navy blue)
5. 2014 VW Passat, TDI (black)
6. 2017 Tacoma Off-Road, 4x4, DCSB, 6 speed manual (Barcelona Red)

 

1. 1969 Ford Cortina (the car I got my licence in, had to share with my sister, bought it off my parents so I wouldn't have to share any more and promptly wrote it off one dark rainy night when I discovered a recently deceased bull lying in the road just across from a recently deceased bus in the ditch!)
2. 1987 Holden Commodore (like a 91 caprice wagon on a diet - mine had the Nissan RB30 motor in it and it could fry one tire like you wouldn't believe )
3. 1983(?) Toyota Corona (also a wagon, traded with my sister's boyfriend - now my brother in law - because I needed cash to go overseas)
4. 1987 Honda Prelude (now back from overseas, Toyota was gone to a cousin or something and I needed something cheap to get around in until I left again. Bought for $250, put a clutch in it and sold for $1000.. Cha ching!)
5. 1986(?) Ford Falcon (fun fact, when they stopped building falcons in North America they shipped the nameplate to Australia and kept making them until about 5 years ago. This one had a 4.0L straight six and me and a friend drove it clear across Australia without hitting one single kangaroo)
6. 1992 Isuzu pickup (same friend gave it to me and my girlfriend as an engagement present after it became clear we weren't in fact going to drive clear across Canada together as planned. Drove the truck across with the girlfriend instead, somehow still friends with the guy who gave it to us)
7. 1990 Jeep XJ (4 door, two wheel drive - didn't know they even made them until I bought it)
8. 1999 Subaru Legacy (another wagon, ifl wagons)
9. 2007 Dodge Magnum (see comment above except this one was the wife's idea. Yes the girlfriend from item 6, you can see why it was meant to be)
10. 2008 Toyota Matrix (cheap commuter, shared with the wife so we could save the magnum for road trips)
11. 2017 Kia Sorento (magnum died and by this stage we have three kids and an abject horror of minivans)
12. 2006 Tacoma. (finally the matrix died and I could fulfill my life long dream of owning a real Toyota 4x4 )
