Looking to escape for the weekend. I live in sacramento and looked at fort brag it seems okay right now, is sequoia all snow? Tahoe is too cold as well as mammoth area for the very old dogs we have in tow (want them to enjoy the trip also they don’t have many left).. maybe J tree? Any recommendations?

I would post this question in the appropriate California subforum and ask the locals.

This subforum is mainly for the telling of tales associated with already completed trips. You just won't get enough eyes on your question here.

Mojave is very nice right now. Only going to get colder as will everywhere else as winter nears. Joshua Tree and Mojave are both great options. San Bernardino has some nice places as well, however that's a much further drive. Maybe try some state parks along PCH? https://reservecalifornia.com/Web/ is the website for that. Regarding Sequoia being all snow, its about to hit with the front coming in later this week. Have fun camping!

San Bernardino Coldwater Canyon Yellow post campsites. Forest Route 3N06 / 3N06A. popular spot and there are many videos available on youtube.
