I need some help from some awesome DIY handy people. I learned the hard way why to use the tethers when driving with the tonneau open. I had something sticking out of the bed and the wind blew the tonneau shut, and punched a hole in it. I'm doubtful this falls under the manufacturers warranty (crossing my fingers). Any suggestions on a sturdy DIY patch? I'm not prepared to spend $700 for a new one.0F3A2DAE-0B93-4A79-AE71-3F38FEEEC0A7.jpgF83D2D69-36EA-41A6-A509-F23CCA652BA1.jpgA14E6582-1ADC-4915-AB2D-14679588B394.jpg

What type of material is that? It looks like ABS, maybe? You can buy sections of similar material then buy the appropriate adhesive/glue and patch it from underneath, making sure that you get the glue in the cracks before carefully realigning the pieces back together. I've patched my old Yakima cargo box that way and it's still going strong and watertight. There's also plastic welding, but I have not had very good luck with it; of the few items I've tried it on they've ended up cracking again.

In the meantime you can slap a piece of Flexseal on it to keep water out; as goofy as their commercials are it's stuck surprisingly well the two or three times I've used it

I tried to save the damaged area, but the material stretched before it tore. The warping made it impossible to cement back together. I used flex-shot to seal it under the sheet metal, and I started framing with kydex. I want to add some more segments of that.

Good luck. I have a new Rugged Cover Tri-Fold, that has the vinyl sliced, corner to corner. Was on for a few days, and now I have replaced it. If anyone can fix this, replace the vinyl, you can have it. Everything is there, hardware intact, put it back in the shipping box.
I am in the Knoxville, TN area. I also have a new in box pair of Weather Tech dark tint front window deflectors, $40.00. 2021 Tacoma, 5' Bed.
