Still waiting on my TRD ORDC build, hopeful for end of month which is leaving me with time on my hands to decide on lift/wheels. I really like the look and height of Nitto Ridge Grapplers 285/17/70 (owned before on my Tundra, actually 275) and leaning toward Method 305 or 705 or something like that. Question is on lift - Want to add some height and may do off road here and there, nothing too serious. How much height do I need to add? Two thoughts rattling around my brain:

    1. TRD Lift Kit - Dealer offered me a great deal and yes I know its overpriced 5100's, a block, and a grill, thought is on ease to get it done and under authorized warranty. Will the 285 fit with no or minimal cutting?

    2. 2.5"-3" suspension lift - Not as educated here but generally understand front coilovers and maybe a leaf in rear? Will 285 fit here without cutting? Also do not want to break the bank but want something reliable.

Been searching around the forum with lots of information, appreciate any additional help...

285 can fit without cutting. I have Yokohama Geolandar M/T-G003's with -12 offset and don't rub on anything even when turning up an incline. My suspension consist of a 2in block, 6112 front shocks set for about 2.75 in of lift, and stock UCA's.

You on the 5/6 setting? Hows the set up ride? Im about to bump mine up from 3/4 to 5/6 and do a UCA at the same time. Love those RRW wheels btw.

Thanks! I'd assume so, I got it preset from the readylift kit. The ride feels incredibly smooth, kinda like a mattress. I definitely prefer it over the stock feel. The only issue I have is that going over steep speed bumps is jarring since I didn't upgrade the UCA's to get the extra bit of down-travel, but you won't have that issue.

Your question comes with many variables.
-285's are not all the same. (depends on the manufacturer)
    -Wheel offset is important.
    -Alignment is important!
    -Wheel width is important
Any combination of these factors can make a difference on if you tires will rub or not.

I was running 285/70 R17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on Procomp 17x9 with a 4.75BS 2" Bilstein 5100 lift with add-a-leafs in the rear. SPC UCA's set at "F" and my alignment CASTER 2.8* and Camber at 0* No cutting No rubbing!
    Can it be done? Absolutely!
Get the right combination and you'll be Golden!

Some people think if it fits it's Good?
    NO!
Your alignment number need to be set properly also!

What is your alignment numbers? Do your tires look like this \--/ when looking at your truck from the front?
