So, is it possible to replace the rear leaf bushings without removing the leaf pack? I don't know if it makes a difference but I have HD Dakars. According to a few posts, seems like the front ones are easily done with prybar and bottle jack but I suspect the rear ones need removal of the leaf pack?

After 9 years of abuse on salted roads, I'm pretty sure that if I remove the leaf pack, I will require a complete new set of hardware. I would like to avoid replacing U-bolts if possible.

I don't see how it would be possible. The long bolts have to come out, and those would hit the shackle/hanger before being even close to coming out.

Yup, I could. Or I could also ask here, and maybe save myself lots of pain ;)

I would just buy a new set of U bolts and prepare to cut off the old ones.

Just unbolt both sides of the pack, drop the axle down, leaving the springs connected to the axle. It will fight you a bit and IMO not with the effort of not getting a new set of ubolts.
