I have a 2005 Tacoma it’s a base with the 5 speed manual. I really want remote start for my truck so I don’t have to wait in the car after class and let it warm up, I want to press a button from a ways away and let it start the car. Has anyone done remote start on theirs Id really like to know how

Call your local car audio retailer or search online for local dealers that sell compustar remote starters. Manual transmission is not a straight forward install like AT but compustar makes remote starters for MT. Places like Best Buy should have them.

I have an AUTO (not 5 speed), but I just love my 12volts Solutions remote. The distance that the fob works (while inside buildings) is awesome. It is a 2-way remote, which means I know when the truck started and if it times out (after 15 minutes). Install was pretty easy too and I am not very skilled.
