Living in Bellingham, I've always been interested in Walker as it's in my backyard. I recently installed sliders too... but man I've seen photos of that filter gate and it looks gnarly for anything other than a jeep!

Probably installing my front kings tomorrow but y'all have fun!

I certainly wouldn't try the gatekeeper on anything resembling a stock truck. Dclb would probably have a lot of difficulty

I’m taking the 96’. My buddy’s kid moved in for a bit and he’s in the Skagit county 20 something’s wheeling scene. He said Rainer Ridge Rams went up there and did some trail work making it more challenging. Gate keepers are tighter with an added post. Last time he was in there he dented up his sliders, ripped off his track bar and twisted his driveline on his Xj with 35’s. I haven’t been in there in probably 5 years. Last time I was there I put my fan though my radiator and broke my bell housing.

If you follow WORN on Facebook there was a kid a while back that kept trying to go in there in a mostly stock Ranger that had to call for rescue at least twice this summer

So I ended up ordering the studs that @WrecklessAbandon recommended. Based on the image they should've fit. The actual ones I got have a different knurl and shoulder length than the stock studs and didn't end up fitting in the hub.

    OEM above/Dorman 610-462 below

Even the Dorman site shows a stud for 610-462 that looks compatible but the actual product received is different.

Replacing the studs wasn't a hassle. Getting the right studs is the PITA. Even the guys at O-Reilly's put in a valiant effort of combing through the Dorman catalog but couldn't find anything like the OEM studs with a longer length.

Any suggestions? I'm pretty stumped now and will probably finish up my brake job without installing the spacers for now and using the stock studs.

Man, I thought installing spacers would be one of those easy peasy things but I guess I was wrong.

I just ordered a stud installer that should make the process easier. I'll keep you posted. The same ones went into my old GX hubs so I know they work.

I just ordered one on Amazon and it'll be here tomorrow when I plan on working on the truck again. Hopefully, it seats the studs or else no spacers for now.

Your reassurance that they fit your GX gives me hope that they are the right studs.

Yiiiikes. That 12-18" makes a gigantic difference. Just the paint carnage difference between it and the old one tells the whole story
