In Tx LED tag lights are PC as per state law are illegal. (No white lights to the rear).

I would think that would be true if they were rear facing, but what about this?
“The Transportation Code states in section 547.322 that the rear license plate must be illuminated by a white light that “makes the plate clearly legible at a distance of 50 feet from the rear.” Even with a working light, if a police officer cannot see your license plate “clearly” from 50 feet away you are still in violation of the statute, and potentially at risk of being pulled over.”

whaaa? Aren’t incandescent lights considered “white?” So, Texas just means no rear facing white while moving forward? It’s the same here, but the tag lights have a diff vehicle code that states they just can’t be aimed directly back, like reverse lights.

In Cali white is pretty much 4000k-5500k. So as long as you don’t enter the yellow or blue spectrum you’re good here.

Oh, and, PSA, all you guys running those awesome colored halos (green, red, purple, pink, blue, etc.), in our county, we stop every single one of them. White or amber facing forward ONLY (parked or moving). Demon eyes too.

And this is why having the extra brightness of the led is a “good” thing. It’s hard to argue not being able to see it at 50’ with the WHITE leds.

nice! I love mine. That tip looks to so close to that big ol spare, the tip gets so hot, keep an eye on it. Can’t really tell how close it is with the pic tho. Some heat shielding might be a good idea if the spare is hot to the touch after some driving.

Did you get any additional drone in the cab after you cut it back?

Best way to remove 15" of snow from your truck is go to the carwash. Plus I got to test out the ss3 fogs and give the transfer case a workout.

Running to the store for plumbing and HW while the paint on my brackets dry then I’ll get it bolted up for real. Unfortunately it won’t be running today cause there’s some big electrical mods on the slate first and parts for that are still inbound.

Haven't done anything today, other than follow the news of the devistating tornadoes that hit Kentucky (hardest) and other states in the region. Hoping all Taco World Fam and their loved ones are safe.

Such a tragic blow just before the holidays. Damn.

Gave her belly a good scrubbing today and put her in the heated tent to dry over night so I can undercoat tomorrow. All that’s left for maintenance before I put it away before winter is spark plugs, coolant flush, tire rotation and a clean. I’ll probably detail the cab and treat the leather myself and then send it off to a buddy for a buff. Then it’s going in storage for the winter, yes I’m undercoating to put into storage lol, but hey I’ll have a fresh truck ready and waiting for adventures in the spring.
