Here’s my Thanksgiving contribution. Smoked the turkey at 250 for about 6 hrs. It was stuffed with a sausage and apple stuffing. Also did the green bean casserole and a separate tray of stuffing on the smoker. Turned out better than I expected for not having brined or done any meaningful prep to the bird beforehand.

There we go - Yeah I usually go for the turkey on the smoker but not whole. I do smoked turkey breast, hot damn they're good. And when I go to a BBQ joint that's what I aim for. Turkey and sausages first.

WTF. My mom and sister are also allergic to turkey and chicken somehow. I have never met anyone else.

getting some cheese going for Christmas later this week/this weekend. Otherwise I think that's all she wrote for my smoker for the season :( I would keep the grill to use but, might just wrap it all up and put the whole shebang into the shed again this winter instead. Sad days indeed. At least I have a fireplace I can chuck a cast iron into.

Recommend me a pellet grill that's on sale right now? Eyeing a pit boss sportsman 500? Only issue is it doesn't seem big enough. Anyone have any recommendations on something around the 400 price range?

I have a Pit Boss Series 5 vertical smoker that was around $400.. and it's definitely big enough.

I have the 850 pro series and paid around 400 a couple years ago during the holiday sales. Absolutely love it.

Last time I tried this Mother Nature called me a bitch and threw 40+ mph winds at me. I still need a new canopy. :(

I’ve now reached that point in the cook where it’s 3:00 a.m., I just finished cleaning everything up and I’m muttering under my breath “next time people come over on Sunday they’ll be getting Pizza Hut, dammit.” Took longer than I expected for these two butts to hit 195. Time to get a few hours sleep then do the smoked mac and cheese.

No-boil smoked mac and cheese was awesome, stuffed mushrooms disappeared before I could get a picture. The stuffed bacon wrapped peppers would’ve been better if it wasn’t for this damned inflation. I’m not paying $10 for Hormel black label so I got Food Lion brand, shrunk considerably. All and all a good meal.
