    Hello,
I just picked up my 2022 TRD Off road. I got the manual transmission, so for some reason I don't get TPMS.

Is it possible to add TPMS? I find it hard to believe that the software isn't still there, so I guess I would need some hardware. Is it possible?

    They've been mandatory since 07.

TPMS has been mandatory since around 2007 or 08. What it is referring to is TPMS with auto-location. You have TPMS.

I think it's the "auto location" part that you aren't getting... try flattening a tire and see what shows on the dash.

Idk what the "auto location" part of that means but I can guarantee your truck has tpms sensors. Swipe though your dashboard menu and you will find them.

Also look for the TPMS reset button on the lower left of the dash.

Interesting. I will have to check on the dash. I don't recall seeing anything about pressures. The owners manual also refers to "where fitted" for the pressure warning light, so I inferred that the whole TPMS system wasn't active.

back before all this sensor crap.... you would just let go of the steering wheel and if the car tracked straight you were fine on your tire pressure. if it pulled either direction you knew to find an exit fast.

No TPMS reset button, just a blanking plug.

TPMS not mandatory in Canada. So I assume OP is in Canada.

I do not have TPMS, I consider that a good thing. To each their own I guess. Some dude asked about adding it into his truck to sell in the US and it seemed like an impossible task. Good luck OP.

I ike the TPMS, but I would not lose any sleep over not having it either.

I did add it to my trailers, but I consider that more important and more likely to be needed since trailer tires are just the worst.

Adding it after the fact to the factory isn't really possible, for a reasonable amount of money anyways.

Yes, I am Canada. Aren't the auto regs aligned between Canada and US? Aside from having to use kms, litres, etc.

I think the auto location thing tells you which individual tire is low. My TPMS on my SR will tell if a tire is low, just not which tire is low. I have to break out the old tried and true method of checking with a tire gauge. Works for me

Either that or it has something to do with when you rotate tires.

And honestly i'm not too impressed with the sensors. On the SR i can get on the AP and see the pressures just not on the dashboard. The ones for my front tires always are off as seen in the photo but i can check with several different gauges and they are all consistent showing about 37 to 39 just the ap shows low for some reason.
