Anyone know what tool Toyota techs use to install mini roller bearing in front differential, that doesn’t knockout mini roller bearings. We hammer in ecgs bushing, but, can you hammer in factory bearing without losing rollers? I would think they have an installation tool similar to the inner cv axle. That would certainly prevent loss of the rollers.

I use a standard bearing installer tool. No different than any other bearing. You chose a flat surface larger than the race and hammer it flush.

Bishop 84 & Waasheem, thanks for reply. I do have the aluminum bearing install tools shown, but, just curious. Seems you should use something that fits in bore to keep those rollers from popping out if you don’t hammer in straight. Ty.

They are nearly impossible to break, there is no special tool (I'm a toyota tech) The TSB even references a standard bearing installer tool.

The rollers just don’t fall out like a U-joint cap.
I think the cage helps keep them in.
