my issue is that truck has a loss of power, it feels like it’s bogging down. Initial hit at low rpm is as always good but coming up through the rpms it often will have that bogging feeling. I have had the s/c on the truck since new so this is definitely not typical. What I have done so far.
    • I have no cel/codes
    • New plugs
    • New s/c. Belt (gates Rpm series)
Looking to see if anyone has any experience with this before I move onto more random parts swapping? One note normal driving style is without issue it is under Near or WOT that this will occur.

Are you running the stock fuel pump?

You have a boost/AFR gauge? Numbers look normal? Do the RPMs drop off or just plateau without revving higher?

No gauges to monitor those elements. Dealer installed s/c since I bought new- 105k miles on it now.

Have you changed your plugs recently? They tend to not last that long with the SC.

An AFR gauge is especially important with forced induction. If the air fuel ratio is way off you could grenade your engine.

Nippendenso iridium same as the factory kit installed. Please note I have 100,000 miles on the truck that i have owned since new, this problem popped up in the last 2-3000 miles. I have changed the plugs and belt with no change to the problem. Normal/ moderate driving you would never know it had a problem. I will offer my two working theories at the moment, but like I said at this point I guessing/part swapping

    • Belt tensioner is weakened- less tensioning
    • Fuel filter is restricted. I have not changed yet

You can kind of feel and often hear belt slippage. Different weather conditions make that change as well. Hot weather/less slip. I don't think that is likely the problem.

Can you tell if the SC is trying to go into boost? Maybe an issue with the bypass valve at the back of the SC.

    Or a fueling issue.

The stock fuel filter is not easily replaceable as it permanently resides in the tank itself. A lot of guys upgrade the fuel pump and install an external filter at the same time. I've replace my external filter at around 18000 km because it was starting to restrict flow under WOT

Thanks tips. Yet you asked if they were changed even though he had already stated they were.

Going to pull back from the belt tensioner idea. I know it was pretty dang stiff when I changed it out this weekend and the s/c whine seems to be linear with the engine rpm. Cooler day when leaving work today, it requires me to pull out of the parking lot onto a 55mph rd. This is where I have had to dial back my enthusiasm on hitting traffic openings. Seems like the tranny is hunting/ glitching on the shift points. This has been a sporadic issue that has accompanied this bogging. Wondering if there is vacuum signal/sensor effecting things. Again no codes so it is a bit of have it act strange for a bit and then not, leaving me to ponder the causation. Hoping some had a similar experience to relate... seems to me going to the dealer is just going to be waste of $$ at the moment.

Vacuum leaks are a good thing to check over. . Ive had a little 1/8" rubber port plug over a nipple on the intake crack just enough to leak but was hard to see until I pinched it in my fingers. Check the hose to the bypass valve. Throttle body clamps.

Also worth cleaning the MAF sensor just for the hell of it although it sounds completely unrelated to the issue.
