I’ve also seen people attach a climbing chalk bag to the center console to hold larger water bottles, like a yeti. There’s a thread on that too here somewhere.

    Welcome to TW @harleywolf29!

Everyone's priorities for their trucks are MASSIVELY different and obviously depend on budget.

Personally, I wanted snow to stay out of my bed in the winter so a tonneau cover was a priority. There are numerous options (hard tri-fold, soft roll-up, retractable). Prices range from $200 to well over $1,000 depending on what you get.

Second for me was being able to get in and out easily so steps went on. The options for these are more numerous than the tonneau covers but it seems like the favorite is hoop steps or sliders. Sliders would be for if he's doing any off roading where there are rocks.

Safe, and cheapest bet so far, assuming the truck doesn't already have one, is the rubber bed mat. I resisted for about a year thinking it can't be that big of a deal but regret not getting it sooner. Things slide around on the composite bed but stay put with the mat.

If you have dogs, a protector for the back seat isn't a horrible idea.
