Yeah, you early-adopters get on out there and buy yourselves that Barbie Truck. Your kids will love playing in the box it comes in.

Why not hydrogen? I don't want to live in a world where things don't go BRRRRAAAPPPP!!! I already own an electric golf cart. It grants me no secondary movement, and there is no sex in its "violence". On the other hand, my LS...

What good is torque without sex and violence?

EV's are like kissing your sister. Through a screen door.

Hydrogen powered vehicles are electric vehicles. The H2 is run through a fuel cell where it reacts with oxygen, creating electricity and water as byproducts.

Definitely interested in the 2nd or 3rd year of the EV generation Tacoma. Also interested to see what kind of offroad capabilities it will have, specifically regarding range.

It also takes more energy to create hydrogen than the resultant hydrogen itself contains. And I guess as another point about 99% of all H2 produced today is done by splitting methane under huge amounts of heat and pressure. Virtually all H2 produced in electrolyzers is a byproduct of the chlor-alkali process used to manufacture chlorine. H2 prices will fall in the coming decades as some of the planned and under-construction global-scale green H2 plants come on line.

But it does not take more energy to create electricity than the resultant electricity contains? I was under the impression that energy can neither be created nor destroyed.

I like the blacked-out A-pillar and roof, but I dislike the gloss black wheel arches... My prediction is this is what the 4th gen will be except there will be a Gas Model, Hybrid (Maybe plug in) and then last released will be the EV a few years after production starts.

Lol bro, the laws of thermodynamics still hold. And yes technically in any energy system there will be losses via transmission, heat, and mechanics, including batteries. The comparison here is really about taking wind/solar energy and putting that through the grid and out to people's car batteries...or taking wind/solar power, routing that to an H2 plant where electrolyzers go to work splitting water into H2 and oxygen, then transporting and storing that H2 until it can be transferred into your car's H2 storage tank. Not to mention that containing the smallest molecule in the periodic table will have never-ending engineering and maintenance challenges.

I was just being a smart a$$ with my comment :D. Glad the "Tacoma EV" is not looking like the Cyber Truck and more like the Rivian R1T.

Be careful you aren't comparing a real truck with a render. The physical display model in the reveal looks a lot more like a 3rd gen. In fact, it's almost as if they can drop the body on a 3rd gen frame and have everything fit...

Grease, waxes, and lubes are sequestered petroleum products, meaning they're not being burned and so those carbon atoms remained locked up in those compounds. That's not nearly the same thing as burning fossil fuels to refine fossil fuels to power internal combustion engines.

    So wind generators pollute?
