OP, I think all things considered you fared decently well. Mistakes happen, but you got what you wanted and it doesn't soundlike the minor loss in $ is going to be a material downfall for you. So, congrats on your second new truck and enjoy it ! I think 4x4 is a very nice thing to have, and there will likely be times that you will be so very glad you have it.

Also, PS, it really is amazing how few actually READ your post(s). And you were right, some of these folks are brutal !

Not sure 8k more. I’m more of i visual person. I just see past pay off is 22,600 new pay off 28,100 comes to $ 5,400 and some change  basically yes I saw what more I’d be paying a month and feel that it isn’t to much more. Was paying $330 now $410 so not going to notice an extra $80 dollars a month.

I drove my 2wd prerunner all around CA. Mountains, sand, snow etc before I finally wanted to get into big rocks and finally converted to 4x4. You could get away with it, but we all have wants vs needs.[/QUOTE]
My situation is 100% wants vs needs. I fully am aware that I don’t need 4x4.

Appreciate that. Yes, I plan on keeping the truck for sure 10 years maybe more depending on how it holds up. So should have gotten a 4x4 from the jump. I don’t need it it’s just something I’d like to have basically.
Also was a member on a Tundra website before I came over here. Night and day difference how people interact with each other. There are cool members on here but more smart asses also :D:crapstorm:

Ironically I didn’t want to get further in debt lmfao. Also 2wd has less moving parts to break, slighter lighter than 4x4 also. So those things were my deciding factors. I didn’t think about this will probably be my last vehicle for quite awhile and it would be nice to have the 4x4 just in case I want or ever need to use it. The cool factor is also a plus. Everyone has 4x4 here. Actually, I’m still contemplating making the jump. Got about a week before the truck arrives and test drive it.
Also listening to everyone’s in put good or bad helps.

I know it's over and done now but something else to consider before selling your trade in....taxes.
When I traded for my 21, I could have gotten about a grand more from selling my trade in, but by trading it in, I saved over $2k in tax savings. This situation might vary with locations but in Alabama we only pay sales tax on the difference.

If you're going to have the truck for that long, that is a lot of opportunities to enjoy the 4wd. If it makes you feel better, I'm in a similar boat. We bought a '21 SR5 4x4 a year ago for our Doberman (he was destroying my wife's car) (we don't have kids, ya know, DINK's as they say). Now, a year later after I've discovered off roading with my neighbors and friends (it is addicting), I'm wondering if I should make the jump to a 4Runner (for something different) that has A-Trac & rear locker (my SR5 doesn't) before I dump a bunch of $ into lift, tires, lights etc. Similar situation, wondering if I am starting with the right platform from the get-go. Luckily the #'s look decent and don't really play a factor, aside from trying to find a 4Runner that is not KDSS and with no dealer markup. The used ones are just bananas price wise in my area.

Wow that went on didn't it. Whatever you decide, enjoy the truck and either one will do well by you for as long as you want it to (though I vote the 4x4 :) ).

And yes, there are some feisty ones here. Sometimes we are all big and tough behind a keyboard - pay no mind to those.
