I have finals this week and next week so I'll run it by the dealership sometime after December 10th. I have to get an oil change, tire rotation and 3rd brake light sealed (recall) anyway so I'll address this issue to them too.

I'll make sure they keep a record of this issue incase it happens again.

    Good luck on those finals!

Study hard and don’t worry about this fixable issue.

If any Toyota dealer wont fix it, call Toyota corp. and tell them it unlatched repeatedly during driving an it is very unsafe...they will make something happen for you.

Just dropped the truck off at the dealership. I’m picking it up tomorrow. I told them about the issue and they will see if they can replicate it if possible. If not they said they’ll take a note of it

    Update

Dealership could not replicate the issue but it’s been documented in case it becomes an issue sometime in the future

Did you have them adjust the door slightly more loose? Like 1/32” ?

I’m gonna assume they took it apart to inspect the latch based on what they said about their troubleshooting. I don’t think that’s what is causing it though

I doubt they took to much apart.. if anything.
No duplication means they could not make it do what you said. Unless they replace a part they don’t get paid…. But at least it’s on record..
