i've heard 6 inchers have stability issues, the BDS 6" coilover kit looks real nice. Cant find a comparable 4 inch lift like it. The biggest i would want to run is 33x12.5's, possibly up to -51mm offset

What’s your set up and what are you looking to do after lift… Gen, drivetrain, mall crawler, trails, rock climbing??

I can’t speak for all… but as for 3rd Gen’s, anything more than 2.5” of lift is just asking for problems… CV boot issues, alignment issues, lots of cutting and possibly welding (cab mounts), the list goes on. If you just want a big a** Taco, go with the 6”. But I know with the 3rd Gen again, you’ll have to cut out the factory cross member. That right there will void many warranties and coverages. Not to mention kill the resale value if you ever decide to go with a new rig. Definitely do your research first!! You can achieve 33’s without using 4-6” lifts and removing factory cross member. If you want to go that route, spend the money right and just do a solid axle swap in the front!

Hope this helps. Keep us posted on what you decide.

Ah, well that’s a different story then… what’s wrong with the RC lift? If it’s just age, you could always send the hardware out to blast and re-powder, and then just add some nice Kings to what you already have.

I want to put 33's, have on 35's right now because I went full retard and they are too big. Thinking of lowering the truck too and getting a 4" kit. Will probably just get the 2500 buck BDS kit with Fox, Kings I cant find in stock anywhere but hey if you can let me know bro

If you go with the BDS kit, Fox shocks is your best bet and something we can help you source. King doesn't make a shock set for that tall of a lift.

Awesome! So I could use a BDS 4" kit and you could get some fox coilovers that would work for 4"?

I've got a 100% complete full Fabtech 6" kit for sale.

Full length 6" lift Fox resi coilovers for the front, fox 2.0 shocks for the rear, and full leaf packs for the rear. No blocks or spacers. If you're in Colorado I'd give it to ya for cheap...

That's awesome! So in the BDS 4" kit, it comes with two Fox shocks it looks like, could i just move those to the rear suspension and use some of your coilovers in the front instead?

Sorry, for some reason I had it in my mind BDS uses the same coilover for their 4" and 6" kits. Their 4" kit only includes a large spacer to use along with a stock coilover. Unfortunately I am not able to confirm if the longer coilover can be run at that short of a lift height. We could set you up with a standard length Fox coilover to use along with their spacer. You would still get that lift height and still get a quality ride from the tuned shocks. Shoot is a message if you would like some more details on this setup

Tons of Tacoma's running those tires on a 6" lift here in Hawaii. No issues.
