Does anyone know what manufacture Toyota uses for wheel bearing? Is it Koyo?

Not sure on the third gen.

Back in the 90s my Toyota truck came with Timken bearings.

Yes I am pretty sure it is Koyo. At least for the front it would make sense the rears would be the same brand. When checking my local Toyota dealership parts website for front wheel bearings it shows a picture of them with a Koyo stamp and made in Japan. On a sidenote does anyone know what type of wheel hubs Toyota uses on the first GEN Tacoma‘s? 033.4 L auto 4 x 4. I tried to get some information from Toyota on what manufacture they use for wheel hubs and was told by the parts guys we really don’t have a good idea. Seems kind of fishy to me you would think they would have some kind of stamp on them like the wheel Bearings do.

Toyota uses several bearing manufacturers for original and replacement supply. The most common is generally Koyo, a brand from JTEKT, a member of the Toyota Group of Companies. Toyota also uses NSK frequently in addition to SKF. I can't recall ever seeing any Timken bearings used from the factory or in common service replacement, but it is possible Toyota used them in the past.

When it comes to hubs and axle shafts, it gets much more difficult to determine manufacturer, as they don't often have stampings/markings to indicate as such. Toyota makes a lot themselves, but also uses GKN, Dana, Koyo, SKF and others.

The 2005-2022 Tacoma uses the same parts.
