I have a solution for the RSI locks. We sell the caps (sold almost 100 so far) and we have been searching for a solution to locks. I just got 100 sets (6 each) of a cover that fits over the locks. We have to trim them a little to fit the locks. If you are interested send me a message or get a hold of our shop Top Notch Accessories in Anchorage,AK.

These mount behind the latch? How are they at 60+ MPH?

Yes, we have been removing the lock assembly, removing the factory gasket, putting this cover on and then re-installing the lock. I haven't had any one come back with complaints about them opening at high speeds. This is just a solution we came up with for the RSI locks that was readily available. The covers are made for a retractable tonneau cover lock and we just trim the hole a little to fit the RSI lock. IMG_5922.jpg IMG_5923.jpg

I like it. My last question is do you have to readjust the latch because of the difference of thickness from the gasket when you mount these? How much are these things as well?

You don't have to adjust the lock because you remove the factory gasket. We are selling them for $65 a set

It isn't silicone, I am not sure the exact type of rubber. We found an existing product from a similar application and am modifying it to work on these locks. We looked into manufacturing them from scratch but it was expensive.

I was hoping EPDM so since cold weather is a concern, EPDM will remain flexible and be UV resistant...otherwise if it's regular rubber it will harden and crack...not to mention UV...

I’d guess it’s somewhat decent material since it was sourced from a tonneau cover.

    2 questions:
    1. how are the lead times on the EVO Adventure for the Gen2 tacos? (2015 DCSB).

    2. is there a timeline for the bed-replacement with drop sides& and tray for the 2nd Gen (2015 DCSB)?

Hey, Mindstar. Fellow BC’er here. I would love to show you how my Evo A is setup, but I am completely locked out of it. These cold temps have frozen all locks and latches. o_O I will post some pics when I can get into it.

A heat gun works well to thaw the latches, though they will refreeze if you don't get them completely dry. The entire latch is metal, a regular bic lightee does not give enough heat to thaw them (well at -10 C at least), but they should survive a torch as well if done carefully.

Yeah I had to get in mine yesterday and used some near boiling water on the side latches. Of course I knew they'd refreeze, but I needed to get my snow shovel lol.

Kravitz where in the province are you? I'm south island; nice to see another BCer here :).

I'm in Chilliwack. I just ordered a set of the latch covers from Hazel at Top Notch Accessories in Alaska, so I will keep everyone posted on how they work out.

I have been happy with mine so far (and Top Notch is awesome to work with). Not seen any really cold temps since I put the covers on yet (so cannot speak to flexibility of the material in those conditions), but they work well for snow and freezing rain.

    1. Best estimate is April
    2. The timelines for the bed replacements have moved around quite a bit. We really don't have a good ETA for the 2nd Gen replacements other than they'll hopefully be available in 2022.
