I really like your wheels. I’m guessing you had a wheel company machine out the centers on the OEM wheels / rims. Then bolt the wheels together. But if memory serves me right that’s an 16” OEM wheel and your wheels look larger than 16”. I like to know who did it and if you don’t mind what did they set you back?

The face of the wheels are 16” but his setup looks like 17” with step lips.

IIRC this is who he got it done through.

He’s known for taking certain oem/1 piece wheels and custom making them to 2/3 piece wheels.

Absolutely love the wheel & seats‼️
The only issue is the Damn wheel airbag. A friends son removed his in a lowered S10 he owned. Some Bonehead in a lifted F-250 4x4 ran a stoplight and ran over the front of the S10. It almost killed his kid. The God Damn insurance said they didn’t have to pay for the injuries because he removed the safety equipment. Please be careful and wear the seatbelts. Sorry not trying to belittle the wheel removal I love it but…
*Edit* I would like to do the same in our 07 but my wife says No Way!

No worries, I completely understand. The front seatbelt actually needs to be replaced also so I ordered a new one from Toyota. I normally don't mess with the SRS system, but my previous car was built the same way, but I kept all the parts street selling the car. Gives me a bit of nostalgia with the wheel and seat in the Taco :)

Looks like we went from 17” OEM Lexus wheels made by Enkie to Enkie 18” PF01’s and probably dropped 5 lbs plus per wheel.
Sadly now you need to drop the ride hight another inch. If you’re still auto crossing get a set of the drop spindles and some adjustable coil overs.
Curious what class do they have you run in? Years ago they had a separate class from trucks when SCCA had a road racing class for trucks. Sadly the factories got so involved that they were building rear differentials with “Camber” built in.

Certainly I am nowhere near finished with the truck and have plenty of tuning, driving, and more changes upcoming.. but there's nothing "sad" about it, that's just how it goes in Tacomaworld!

e.g Spindles, blocks, sway bars, stiffer coils, modified supra lsd and more are all in the works currently.. stay tuned.

The truck is in STX class per SCCA rules, and the mods I am planning above keep me within the rules for the class. Although I'm not sure I will be very competitive against modified Miata's and FRS's in the same class.. ok, let's get back to the topic for now!

    Ahhh…
Well if they have you in that class there’s a LOT more you can do. Panhard bar for the rear diff. Buy street legal racing rubber in a size or two bigger. Power mods etc…
But if you’re in S. Cali. take a driving school or 2 or 3… because “The Lose Nut Behind The Wheel” makes the biggest difference‼️ See if Goodwin putting on a driving school. He’s the guy in a Miata that’s usually getting fastest time of the day. But you be money ahead to keep the Taco as a “Daily” and buy a used shifter cart then enter. Most pro drivers are racing by the age of 7 honing there skills.

You should check out his thread on autocrossing his truck. He's doing really well already and has the mods you mentioned. Part of the fun of racing a truck is the fact that it's different from everybody, and surprising them. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2002-tacoma-for-autocross.703097/

    Thanks marked the thread.
As for the rules they change all the time. There are guys running Hoosier racing slicks on stock width racing wheels in the stock class w/ one aftermarket swaybar & spring packers on the other end of the car. They are out running the guys in the class above with $15k in mods. The main reason is the street class has to run 200 or harder tires. The rules are so screwed up I quit going, plus you spend a LOT of money just to get 3 runs that last about 1 minute each. I can go rent a cart and have a lot more fun. One guy in my class removed everything thing in his NC Miata then pulled & stretched the fenders to stuff 285/35-18 on 18x9.5 racing Enkie’s. The tires were always less than a few months old 200 tread wear w/ shaved rubber. He then trailered the car to the event to run against guys with 100% street cars that had 225 rubber some swaybar’s and an exhaust system. Because you went to a 1/2” wider wheel and F&R sways kicked you in with the big boys. BS… I had enough of that shit…
Oh I forgot this is the day I sold her to the wife of the Tacoma owner in the background. Listed at about 8:30 PM & sold before 7:30 AM to the first person to get to the house. I had to call two others to tell them it was sold as they were on there way over. The funny thing is you could tell that the lady who purchased it had just gotten out of bed and put on a baseball cap to beat the others on their way.

I don't know how it is for you in Cali, but here in Maine I get 10-12 runs each day, and I spend $40 in gas and $40 for my entree fee each time. It's hands down the cheapest way to compete in a motor sport up here.
