    I was 18, late for an interview, going kinda fast down a back road from where my dad's house was and this old dude in an F150 pulls right out in front of my 99 Pontiac Grand Am. There's road crew on the left, so I swerve for the right shoulder, brakes are locked up for 300 feet and wham, my driver side headlight heads straight into and under the right corner of his bed. Barely bent the bumper and the tailpipe and all I got is Liability so my car should've been totaled. Front bumper, headlight, hood and my fender all smashed up. The internal frame structure behind the headlight got tweaked pretty good.
    The cop showed up, made my move my car that's smashed all to hell into a nearby bar's parking lot since he says being on the shoulder is 'obstructing traffic', never assigns fault, then goes on his merry way.
    $300 a junkyard later I go new parts and my dad's friend has an auto restoration and modification shop so they do a cheap rush job on it (paint runs, little prep). I think it was something like $900 all said and done.
    The insurance company sends me a letter later telling us the old man was suing us for damages but passed away of old age so the suit was dropped. :eek:
